This award recognizes PRSA Georgia members who have gone the extra mile in service to the Chapter. The award is presented on a monthly basis, or as appropriate. Eligibility for the award includes all Georgia Chapter members who go above and beyond the call of duty as a Chapter volunteer.

A successful chapter runs on the talents of its volunteers. The Chapter Champion Award recognizes the hard work of our dedicated members. All PRSA Georgia Chapter members who go above and beyond as Chapter volunteers are eligible. The Chapter Champion Award is presented at the Chapter’s monthly luncheon meeting.

Lynn Harris Medcalf, MA, APR is the recipient of the August, 2017 Chapter Champion Award for her dedicated volunteer work with PRSA Georgia.  A true believer in PRSA’s mission, she served on the Chapter’s Membership Committee for three years, before becoming co-chair and Board liaison. Currently, she works with the membership committee to coordinate the Chapter’s welcome to new members through the New Member Reception. Dedicated to mentoring the next generation of PR practitioners, Lynn serves as the professional adviser to the PRSSA Chapter at her alma mater, the University of Georgia, and regularly participates in resume critiques for Real World. Lynn also serves as a Georgia Delegate to National PRSA’s Assembly.

“After moving from DC to Atlanta in 1997, I immediately joined with the Georgia Chapter. I attribute many of the successes in my career to my involvement with this amazing chapter. The networking and education opportunities unparalleled, and the people are amazing – helpful, smart, and passionate about PR. I’m proud to tout my involvement with PRSA Georgia everywhere I go!”

Lynn is an award-winning communications and public relations executive serving as an independent practitioner for clients across a spectrum of industries. Practicing public and media relations for more than 20 years, Lynn specializes in her strategic approach to communications and public relations, helping organizations to think differently and maximize opportunities to communicate clearly, effectively and holistically across the organization. Lynn earned her ABJ from the Grady College of Journalism at the University of Georgia in 1990, and her MA in Journalism in 1994. In 2015, she achieved her APR certification.
