PRSA Georgia Committees
PRSA Georgia's committee structure is vital to the success of the Chapter. Countless hard-working members devote time and energy to each committee. To learn more about current volunteer opportunities, please contact Denise Grant.
The Accreditation Committee oversees all chapter activities related to professional accreditation and markets the benefits of earning the Accredited in Public Relations (APR) designation. The committee helps candidates prepare for the Examination for Accreditation in Public Relations and assembles readiness review panels when candidates come forward to declare intent to sit for review.
The College Relations Committee coordinates a day-long Real World PR Conference offered each February for college students interested in a career in public public relations. This committee also offers a Shadow Day program in the fall.
PRSA Georgia bestows Chapter Awards at the annual Awards Celebration in November to those individuals who have contributed significantly to the public relations profession and the community.
The Membership Committee is responsible for recruiting, orienting and retaining PRSA Georgia members. Among other responsibilities, this committee provides greeters at monthly luncheons.
The Phoenix Awards is an annual awards competition designed by PRSA Georgia to recognize projects and programs that demonstrate excellence in the public relations profession in Georgia. The Phoenix Awards committee is responsible for coordinating the entry and awards process for the Phoenix Awards, as well as coordinating the judging partner chapter's awards.
The Annual Conference committee is responsible for planning every aspect of PRSA Georgia's full-day annual conference offered in May.
The Public Relations Committee writes and distributes news releases to local and trade media relating to Chapter programming and news. The committee is also responsible for positioning PRSA Georgia spokespersons as thought leaders on industry issues.
Meetings & Seminars
The Meetings & Seminars Committee is responsible for identifying and scheduling the speakers and topics for PRSA Georgia's meetings and seminars.
The Nominating Committee is responsible for recommending the new slate of board members and national assembly delegates to the PRSA Georgia membership at it's annual meeting. Under PRSA Georgia's By-laws, this committee is chaired by the immediate past president.
Sponsorship / Silent Auction
The Sponsorship and Silent Auction Committee is responsible for providing opportunities for organizations to connect with PRSA Georgia members.
The Social Media Committee is responsible for managing PRSA Georgia's social media channels.
