PRSA Georgia: Serving members across the state

A group of people pose for a picture at a restaurant.
PRSA members in the Athens-area gathered for lunch Oct. 13, 2022. Pictured in the back row (from left) are Dr. Juan Meng, Jordan Powers, Sue Smith, Alyssa Robinson, Sara Freeland, Becky Ayer; (front row from left) Krista Richmond and Sarah Freeman.

We are fortunate to have a Chapter that serves the entire state. While Atlanta is home (personally or professionally) to a majority of our members, there are pockets of the state like Savannah, Athens, Columbus and others that have loyal and dedicated members.

In the Athens area, there are nearly 25 members who have started connecting on an informal basis every few weeks. We have used these lunches to talk about our chapter involvement, professional opportunities and encourage each other to consider professional development programs like the APR process.

If you live outside the Atlanta area, think about how you can connect with others in your area and get the most of your PRSA membership.

If you are interested in getting involved with the Athens group, please contact Sue Myers Smith at suesmith@uga.edu.
