Chapter Awards Nomination Form 2023: George Goodwin Award

The George Goodwin Award is presented to a Chapter member annually in recognition of significant contributions to the community through volunteer service in civic, cultural, charitable, educational and/or religious work. These contributions, which must not be solely on behalf of an employer or client, may involve service to one or many groups. Nominees must be current members of PRSA Georgia. Nominees may be currently serving in a leadership or volunteer role with the Chapter. However, the focus of the award is volunteer support given to non-profit organizations outside of the Chapter or job duties. It is acceptable to contact the nominee for information.

Provide information about organizations for which the nominee has volunteered. Please provide the organization(s) in which they served, the location(s) of the organization, the organization's website, and the volunteer role(s) the nominee held.

Essay*

Explain in 300 words or less why you think this PRSA Georgia member is an excellent candidate for this award. Please address the judging criteria in your answer. These criteria include the number of organizations for which the nominee has volunteered; the significance of their volunteer role; how sustained the nominee’s volunteer activity has been; and how many, if any, public service awards the nominee has received. Consideration is also given to the extent to which the nominee has volunteered for the Chapter, including number of volunteer positions and level of responsibility. If the nominee’s company provides financial support to any of the organizations in which the nominee is involved, explain how the support is provided, and if the nominee’s involvement is voluntary.

Optional Letters of Recommendation

Up to three letters of recommendation may be submitted as a supplement to the nomination. These should be included as PDF documents attached below. Any letter of recommendation should provide additional information not included in the nominee’s application form. Letters of recommendation are not required.
