Daniel Groce, APR, Earns Accreditation Designation

The APR Committee is happy to close 2020 with the Accreditation of Daniel Groce, APR, and we could not be more thrilled. Daniel stayed the course and finished the journey. If you’re thinking about pursuing the APR journey, Daniel is an excellent example and someone you should connect with.

The APR Committee celebrated Daniel’s accomplishment in November with a masked, in-person pinning celebration. Elizabeth McMillan, APR; Kristie Swink Benson, APR and Quiana Pinckney, APR, were met with assorted Krispy Kreme Doughnuts among other goodies. We salute Daniel and his newly minted APR status.

Daniel Groce, APR, is a communications manager at Novelis, the world’s largest aluminum recycler. He supports Novelis North America with internal communications, marketing communications, and government affairs.

Prior to joining Novelis in 2016, Daniel held similar roles at Allstate Insurance Company and the Georgia Agribusiness Council. Daniel graduated from Mercer University with a degree in Political Science. He has served on the PRSA Georgia Board of Directors for two years and was named to the chapter’s inaugural 40 Under 40 program in 2019. He is also a graduate of Leadership Buckhead.

“Earning my Accreditation in Public Relations helped me strengthen my skills and knowledge of our profession so that I can think bigger and serve as a true business partner,” says Groce. “The voices in my head always told me I wasn’t really a PR professional since I did not have a formal education in journalism or public relations. Through the APR process, I quieted those voices by realizing I could couple my own experiences with a formal, research-backed educational program.”

He adds, “PRSA Georgia offers the most supportive network for professionals pursuing their APR in the country. From volunteers investing their time during the jump-start course, to my APR mentor offering counsel as I prepared for my panel presentation, and even to the panelists who encouraged me as I walked them through my PR plan, I felt 100% supported throughout the process.”

Please join us in congratulating Daniel Groce, APR. For all Georgia PRSA professionals who have five years of experience, we invite you to pursue Accreditation. Virtual winter Jumpstart classes start Feb.4, 2021. Sign up here.
