PR To The Rescue:
Communicators share timely lessons from highway fires, hurricanes and humanitarian crises

The most gripping stories out of recent headlines in Atlanta and around the world have involved a fleet of communicators helping our city in the wake of having a major highway destroyed, assisting cities suffering weather events and natural disasters and providing aid and support in a world faced with a refugee crisis. PR planning and a surefooted stream of communications have been vital to tackle these real-time challenges.

Stephany Fisher, formerly of CBS Atlanta and now communications manager at MARTA, will moderate a panel featuring three individuals at the heart of the stories and segments that have stirred and moved us:

Scott Higley, Director of Strategic Communications, Georgia Department of Transportation
Jeff Wilson, Nuclear Development & Crisis Communications Manager, Georgia Power
Nicole Harris, Media Relations Manager, CARE
Moderator: Stephany Fisher, Communications Manager, Metro Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA)

Attendees of this first major PRSA Georgia luncheon of 2018 will learn:

  • What panelists knew and how soon they knew it about major issues that they faced as communicators
  • What systems in place helped them be ready for handling real-time crisis management
  • Lessons learned from situations that have been handled and are ongoing

Findings and tips that will help PR practitioners and marketers to maintain readiness in a time of shifting communications needs.

Please note:
