Learn what crucial key steps separated a Best of Phoenix winner from the pack.

It can be soul crushing to work tirelessly on a campaign only to have it miss the mark.  The reality is, most PR programs fail – or fail to live up to their potential – because just a few steps (in the right order) were missed.  When you’re dealing with an issue as important as preventing tomorrow’s newborns from ever developing a life-threatening peanut allergy, there is added incentive to get it right the first time and every time.

Our speakers will give you the behind-the-scenes look at Peanut Powered Parents, the 2018 PRSA Georgia Best of Phoenix winner that moved more parents through the journey from hearing about new government guidelines to taking action.  We’ll explore the added challenges that come with being the poster child for a national epidemic, and show how America’s peanut farmers built the credibility to be a leading voice in finding solutions.  As a bonus, we’ll see how the team applied research and feedback from the 2018 effort to develop an even more effective program in 2019.  Really.

So whether you just need a refresher or you have never done a campaign from soup to nuts before (pardon the pun), you’ll walk away ready to win.

By the end of this session, you will be able to:

  • Apply principles of the consumer journey to a social change program.
  • Understand the ways and places research can make you smarter.
  • Avoid the rush to the “big idea” without compelling insights as a foundation.
  • Identify creative approaches for anticipating and overcoming objections.
  • Ensure newborns in your life have the best chance to grow up allergy-free.

Speakers Include:

  • Mark Dvorak, APR, Fellow PRSA, Executive Director, Golin
  • Lauren Highfill Williams, Marketing & Communications Manager, National Peanut Board
