Position #1: Analyst, Measurement and Insights

About the Job:
As a member of the Global Communications & Public Affairs team, you will work cross-functionally to help communicate with journalists and other thought leaders; devise specific communications materials and campaigns; engage in face-to-face meetings with commentators and other opinion formers; and develop print and web-based material supporting these campaigns. We’re looking for great communicators who can understand complex issues and explain them in person and also via well written, simple blog posts, FAQs, video scripts and more.

This team works to bring better data analysis to Google’s communication efforts. You will work across the communications team to develop new ways of measuring the media landscape, press coverage, social media, and official Google channels, such as The Keyword.

In this role, you will be responsible for building and scaling the program, managing any external vendors, developing a measurement cadence, and assisting team members with measurement and data projects. In addition to compiling the data, you will need to extract insights that can help shape the team’s communications strategy. You will have the opportunity to be creative, such as creating dashboards and tools that the team can use. You will present across multiple teams, launch, and resolve issues.

Responsibilities: 

  • Inform our communication strategies and lead ongoing measurement projects and analyses to gauge and monitor trends.
  • Implement performance measures and metrics for short-term and long-term communications efforts, and coordinate the reporting and analysis work across the communications organization.
  • Partner with external and internal stakeholders to implement best measurement practices across social media and traditional media.
  • Assist in the creation of new methodologies measuring the impact of earned media across lines of business.
  • Assist in the building of measurement tools and solutions.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in social media analytics tools.
  • 4 years of experience building measurement key performance indicators and frameworks relating to content performance and social media analysis.
  • Experience with data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Data Studio, Sheets, etc.).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working on measurement projects with the ability to think, plan, and execute on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with SQL.
  • Experience in building measurement key performance indicators and frameworks for communications, journalism, or media objectives.
  • Experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in analyzing and interpreting metrics in earned, paid, and social data.
  • Ability to stay current with the latest social measurement trends, as well as relevant industry trends.

Position #2: Manager, Public Relations, Go-To-Market Partnerships

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage communication programs in support of Google Cloud’s services and channel partners.
  • Work with strategic partners to develop and execute joint communication plans.
  • Manage public relations strategies and grow relationships with technology, partnerships, and business media.
  • Educate business, industry, and technology press about Google Cloud’s approach to support for joint customers.
  • Manage ongoing executive communications and opportunities including media briefings, speaking engagements, and customer/partner activities.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in internal or executive communications.
  • Experience working with or managing relationships with reporters.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working in the technology industry and establishing relationships with enterprise technology reporters.
  • Experience communicating with executives and leadership teams.
  • Experience working with executives and communications teams globally.
  • Experience building campaigns and programs from the ground up.
  • Experience with managing multiple deadlines and projects.
  • Excellent collaboration, written, and verbal communication skills.
