Senior Manager Corporate Communications


Position Overview:
The senior manager, Corporate Communications, will develop and manage internal and external communications for Ascent and its brands. This position will build and implement a communication and content strategy for Ascent Hospitality Management across its key constituents: internal associates, existing franchisees, potential franchise and institutional investors, and national, local, and trade media outlets.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Lead and support PR efforts for Huddle House and Perkins Bakery & Restaurant campaigns, product launches, and operational initiatives, collaborating with key stakeholders to deliver programs against marketing & operational priorities for both internal and external audiences.
  • Work with the Ascent and Brand leadership to develop content and generate awareness of the company’s business progress/achievements among its core target audiences.
  • Develop and implement an investor relations calendar of content, interviews, press, and tradeshow appearances for key senior executives to assist in creating corporate value.
  •  Act as the company’s primary spokesperson when appropriate for trade/national/local media inquiries, and Atlanta area community relations.
  • Proactively identify compelling consumer trends to seize opportunities for culturally relevant, reactive campaigns.
  •  Propose innovations to PR strategy continuously to improve performance against target audiences.
  •  Develop and maintain relationships with key media members across the restaurant industry and business landscape, ensuring an earned media mindset is maintained.
  •  Oversee all news engine efforts and events, ensuring media impression goals are developed and met.
  •   Serve as the day-to-day team lead to the external PR agency.
  •  Serve as the day-to-day liaison to cross-functional team members for external communications needs, communicating priorities, needs, and direction.

Job Knowledge, Skill and Ability:
The successful candidate must possess the following knowledge, skills, experience, and abilities:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a communication-related field is preferable.
  • Six to eight years of experience in PR/communications.
  • Direct PR/Communications agency experience and/or experience managing PR agencies, within the restaurant/hospitality industry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong management skills and attention to detail.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, matrixed, and multi-brand environment.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Team player, professional, positive attitude, pride in work product.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while working independently and with a team.
  • A high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information is critical, and professionalism in dealing with others inside and outside the confederation is necessary.
