PRSA Georgia benefits from countless, hard-working members who devote time and energy to our various committees – and you get the opportunity to collaborate with industry peers as you exchange and share your talent with leading public relations professionals.

APR: Accreditation in Public Relations. The APR credential certifies your drive, professionalism and principles. The Accreditation Committee manages all chapter activities related to professional accreditation and markets the benefits of earning the designation: Accreditation in Public Relations (APR). The committee helps candidates prepare for the Examination for Accreditation in Public Relations and assembles readiness review panels when candidates come forward to declare intent to sit for review. If you have your APR and would like to volunteer, there are opportunities for you to get involved. As an added bonus, you will receive credits toward APR maintenance for your participation on this important committee.

Annual Conference

Providing professional development opportunities to our members is an important part of the value and responsibility of PRSA Georgia. The Annual Conference Committee is responsible for planning and executing PRSA Georgia's full-day conference filled with powerful speakers and breakout learning sessions. If you have a passion for identifying and securing speakers, seeking sponsors or event promotion, the Annual Conference Committee is right for you.

College Relations

Do you have a passion for giving back to the next generation of PR professionals? If so, the College Relations Committee is the perfect place for you. College Relations coordinates one of the region’s most valuable events for up-and-coming PR professionals. The committee plans and manages a day-long Real World PR Conference each February for college students interested in pursuing a public relations career. This committee also offers a Shadow Day program in the fall.

Meetings & Seminars

Providing regular professional development and networking opportunities is critical to our members and an important recruitment tool. The Meetings & Seminars Committee is responsible for identifying thought-provoking topics, securing speakers and promoting the event.


As the second-largest chapter in the country, the Membership Committee has a significant role to play. The Membership Committee is responsible for recruiting, orienting and retaining PRSA Georgia members. This committee also provides greeters at monthly luncheons and coordinates regular PRSA Georgia In Your Neighborhood networking events. If you like networking with current and prospective members, this is the committee for you.

Phoenix Awards

The Phoenix Awards is an annual awards competition designed by PRSA Georgia to recognize projects and programs that demonstrate excellence in the public relations profession in Georgia. The Phoenix Awards Committee is responsible for coordinating the awards process for the Phoenix Awards and reciprocal judging for another PRSA chapter.

Public Relations

Public Relations for PRSA Georgia. The Public Relations Committee writes and distributes news releases to local and trade media related to Chapter programming, member achievements and industry news. The committee also is responsible for positioning PRSA Georgia members as thought leaders on industry issues. If you are a great writer, this committee is a good fit for you.

Social Media

Are you a Social Media guru? Is posting, tweeting, pinning, hash tagging and chatting second nature to you? If the answer is yes, the Social Media Committee will benefit from your expertise. This committee is responsible for managing PRSA Georgia's social media channels throughout the year, particularly during special events, conferences, meetings and seminars.

Special Interest Groups (SIGs)

PRSA Georgia's SIGs allow members to network and learn from other public relations professionals within a specific industry segment. Committee members coordinate the SIG Community Group page and regular professional development meetings and networking events. Active SIGs include: Independent Counselors, Nonprofit, Travel & Tourism and Young Professionals.


The PRSA Georgia website is the hub of the Chapter. The Website Committee collaborates with Chapter staff to manage copy and visual assets and identifies opportunities for overall improvement and upgrades.
