Professional Development

Special Interest Groups – PRSA Georgia offers members the opportunity to network with others in their field of interest through special interest group meetings and events. A variety of groups are available in areas such as Corporate & Employee Communications, Healthcare, Independent Counselors, Nonprofit, Technology,Travel & Tourism, and Young Professionals.

Accreditation – Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) is the only professional certification program open to public relations professionals, and is administered by the Universal Accreditation Board (UAB), a consortium of 10 leading industry organizations, including PRSA. PRSA Georgia helps candidates prepare for the Examination for Accreditation in Public Relations and assembles readiness review panels when candidates come forward to declare intent to sit for review. Committees - PRSA Georgia's committee structure is vital to the success of the Chapter. Countless hard-working members devote time and energy to each committee. Directory – A searchable directory listing of all members is provided online. PRSA Georgia also provides a listing of Independent Counselors and select PR service companies online.



Phoenix Awards – The PRSA Georgia Phoenix Awards is an annual awards competition designed to recognize programs and projects which demonstrate excellence in the public relations profession in Georgia. The awards competition is open to all PR practitioners who reside in Georgia. Entries are submitted during August each year. Winners are announced at the November Awards Celebration. Chapter Awards – Five prestigious awards are presented annually at the November Award Celebration to members for their professional contribution and community work. Learn more about all Chapter Awards.

Chapter Champion- This award recognizes PRSA|GA members who have gone the extra mile in service to the Chapter. The award is presented on a monthly basis, or as appropriate.
