Happy New Year!
I’m honored to lead PRSA Georgia in 2019! Georgia is home to the second-largest PRSA Chapter in the nation with more than 850 members who are trailblazers in PR and communications. Our Chapter is powered by more than 200 volunteers and an incredible Board of Directors who are dedicated to supporting PR professionals in every way.
2019 will be a year of tremendous productivity, passion—and a year of launching new initiatives. To advance our mission of enriching the professional lives of Georgia’s public relations practitioners, here are four of the Chapter’s top priorities in 2019:
Forty Under 40 Awards: PRSA Georgia is thrilled to launch its inaugural 40 Under 40 Awards Program. Georgia is home to the best and brightest communications and marketing professionals in the nation. PRSA Georgia will be the first organization in Georgia to offer a Forty Under 40 recognition program exclusively for public relations, communications, marketing, and social media professionals. In addition to honoring exceptional individuals, PRSA Georgia will also honor organizations who value and support young talent. Additional awards categories include Student of the Year Award, Intern of the Year Award, Best Small Agency for Young Professionals, Best Large Agency for Young Professionals, Best Non-Profit for Young Professionals, and Best Internship Program. Nominations should take less than 20 minutes to complete. Please nominate today!
Leadership Development Series: Helping our members advance their careers is of utmost importance to our Chapter. The Chapter will explore hosting seminars that focus on topics such as refining your leadership skills to drive change in your workplace, transitioning from an individual contributor to a management role, providing practical tools for leading teams, managing work-life balance, and more.
Diversity and Inclusion: We want Georgia to become a national powerhouse for diversity and inclusion practices in PR. PRSA Georgia has launched its first committee dedicated to advancing the Chapter’s diversity and inclusion efforts.
Mentorship: Having strong mentors is essential to establishing a thriving career in PR. In 2019, PRSA Georgia is committed to launching a mentorship program to benefit our members. The Chapter has created a committee that is focused solely on launching a powerful mentorship program to help members reach their full career potential.
I’d love to hear your 2019 goals and how PRSA Georgia can help you achieve career success in the New Year. Send me a note with what you hope you achieve in 2019.
Thank you for being part of the PRSA Georgia family.I hope you will get involved with this incredible Chapter by participating in the 30+ events held annually, joining a committee, and connecting with the most incredible PR professionals in Georgia.
