Meet Jackson Gamble, a recent graduate from the University of West Georgia and former PRSSA member. His journey from college to career was significantly shaped by his attendance at the PRSA Georgia 2023 Annual Conference.
In February 2023, Jackson strategically networked at the conference, leaving with valuable contacts in the public relations and communications field. Post-conference, he maintained those connections and expressed gratitude, showcasing his commitment.
This intentional networking paid off when Babbit Bodner, a connection from the conference, reached out with an internship opportunity in the spring. Jackson, recognizing the alignment with his career goals, eagerly accepted. Today, he is still with the Babbit Bodner team and recently worked on PR efforts around the Illuminarium Atlanta Winter Wonderland Spectacular and Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, as well as the grand opening of Signia by Hilton Atlanta – the largest ground-up hotel in Atlanta in the last 40 years and the tallest building on the city’s west side.
Jackson’s story emphasizes the direct impact of targeted conference networking on post-graduation success. It serves as inspiration for students looking to turn conference connections into tangible career opportunities. Jackson expresses gratitude to his parents, his UWG professors Taylor Bryant and Kelly Williams, and the Babbit Bodner team for giving him this opportunity and for helping him grow in PR and become a better person!
