Sarah Freeman has been named Chapter Champion for December, noting her volunteer service with the Membership, Recruitment and Engagement Committee.

She has brought a personal touch to this role by contacting nearly 75 new members with information about the Chapter and how to get involved. She is also the first to volunteer for assignments on the Committee.

“I am grateful for my role on the PRSA Georgia Membership Committee because it allows me to interact with numerous members of the chapter despite the fact that I am remote and don’t get into Atlanta for a lot of meetings,” Sarah said. “And, while we are all clamoring to return to face-to-fact interactions, I am thankful for the ongoing learning opportunities like webinars that I can participate in over the internet.”

Sarah has more than 25 years of experience in marketing and public relations. She has worked as Director of Communications at Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia since October 2013, where she oversees digital, written and visual communications efforts of the college including the website, media relations, photography, public relations and social media.

Prior to UGA, Sarah directed the marketing and membership departments at master planned golf course communities and also worked at an agency in Columbus, Ohio. Sarah has an undergraduate degree in public relations from Miami University (Ohio), an MBA from Georgia State University and a master’s degree in Emerging Media from the University of Georgia.
